[ You can almost hear a hint of amusement in Judy's usually flat tone, and that seems to confirm that Ciel's guess is correct. ]

I did not. They're an industrious person, so they wished to disassemble one of the monitors. I have none to give, so they took it into their own hands, it seems.

Rhys is the only one who didn't have an issue with Charles dying, and he's the only one who has a hand in engineering. [He's going to kick Rhys' ass!] I forbid you from doing anything he asks in concern to the cuff. [GOD. Now he's gonna have to figure out how to handle Rhys' meddling.] If he dismantles it, can he remove it from your control?

I agree that it is rather obvious. But my confidentiality protocols prevent me from actually identifying this rather obvious person.

If Rhys asks for more with the monitors, I will deny the request, as per your instructions. It is possible that he may remove it from my control, yes. I am not sure that is necessarily his intent, however.

Is there a specific matter you are concerned with?

[JUST--SHUT UP AND LET HIM THINK A MINUTE!! He holds the socket and eyepatch of his eyes in the fingers of one hand.] Not regarding what we have to do.

But if he can alter the cuff, he can attach it to someone else. Worse, it links directly to Charles' murder, and he can plant it on someone else. [A pause, thoughtful.]

Has he already started? Can you disable it?

Is planting it on someone else so bad, Overseer? This would be an easy way to avoid suspicion, I would imagine.

He has not, but to some extent, yes. I can disable the functionality on my end, but I cannot alter what it is. Considering their skill, I imagine they would be able to engineer something from the parts regardless of whether I were to do anything.

Not if he can alter and control what happens to the monitor. I don't want someone like him with that kind of control. [Who has two thumbs and thinks a lot about usurpers? THIS GUY!!]

If you disable it now, can you enable it again later?

Possibly. It depends on the modifications made with the system. It is quite likely, but I cannot say so with certainty.

[He really is gonna kick Rhys' ass.] Disable it on your end for now. [Dammit. He wants to keep track of it, but doesn't want Judy or the system of the Vault to be compromised.]

Let's see what he does with it first. After I gave the order to shock them, he probably trying to find out what all it can do.

But I imagine that is the case, yes. I believe they thought they were not subject to the Complex's rules. In a way, that was a suitable and innocuous reminder. But it does have its consequences.

They would have spent the rest of the time bickering, and we would have never made a decision or progress. It was necessary, despite what they may think. And it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. [Where is Sebastian when you need him to keep underlings in line......]
