[SEBASTIAN IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE ONE CLEANING UP PEOPLE'S MESSES, NOT HIM.]

Deactivate Luke and Lara's monitors on your end.

Are you certain, Overseer? It might be a useful psychological stressor for residents cut off the feet of their friends for no purpose.

Understood.

[ That's seemingly an acceptable compromise for Judy, since there's a pause before she speaks again. ]

Luke's monitor has been deactivated. I have shorted out the components, so they will not get any use from them.

As a related note, I'm surprised you don't wish for them to get to me. Is that concern or practicality?

[ :) ]

Yes, that would be unfortunate. In that case, making sure they do not vote for me may also be to your benefit.

Nothing will happen. I lied.

[ ha ha ha ]

However, I will not talk to anyone beyond the staff should they vote for me as the majority. To think that they killed their provider is an acceptable addition.

I was not joking. It presents an interesting dilemma, and that is why I laughed when it was asked. None of the other Complexes have considered it.

Very. The system may attempt to do something, but I do not have an ankle monitor. It will be pinging nothing.

I could, yes. For another Complex, I chose to not speak to them, in fact.

However, I enjoy speaking with all of you.

The Vaults are not built to only house 30 people, Overseer. I have watched this experiment play out many, many times already.

Twenty-six times. This is the twenty-seventh iteration. The Vault is meant to hold approximately one thousand people.

Of course. The results are varied. Sometimes five survived. Sometimes none survived. It depends on each one.

But, yes. The overseer has survived before.

It was around the 7th iteration that I wondered if I could leave at all. By the 18th, I came to peace with the idea that I may not.

[ a pause ]

I will do what I am meant to do. After this iteration concludes, I suppose it will technically be done.

Perhaps. It is my duty to make sure that servers stay online as long as possible. To do so, I could not leave. But perhaps doing so is pointless.
